The Ladyhill House
Ladyhill
Type: Good Class Bungalow
Situated in one of Singapore’s most established residential districts, The Ladyhill House embodies a sense of tranquillity. As one passes through the gates, the city begins to fall away, replaced by the rustle of leaves.
Along the double driveway, a sculptural fountain carries water in steady rhythm, each drop marking a gentle cadence. Soft rays catch the metallic surfaces and draw the eye upward toward the light well. Greenery frames the edge of the property as sunlight shimmers off a second water feature outside the large timber doors, hinting at the calm within.
Inside, expansive city views stretch beyond glass walls. Light drifts across polished stone, rich timber, and textured surfaces in the generous living area, the perfect setting for hosting friends amid laughter and lively conversation.
A 10-seater dining table sits gracefully in the space, its elegant stone surface paired with an exquisite crystal chandelier, a personal favourite of the homeowner. Outside, the yard is alive with delicate birdsong and shifting patterns of light across the foliage, the calm of the garden weaving gently into the interior.
The kitchen is precise and composed, a place for bonding moments as a young family of four moves through daily routines. Floor-to-ceiling doors slide open to the yard, connecting interior and garden to enhance the sense of airiness.
Ascending to the upper level, a home office occupies a tucked-away corner. Mirror-clad surfaces catch fragments of reflection and shadow, lending depth to the space. It’s the kind of quiet where a cup of tea would sit within reach as you ease into a day of focused work.
Outside, the lounge opens with unexpected breadth. Music plays subtly in the background, making it the perfect place to linger, be immersed in a book, or share a heartfelt conversation with loved ones after a long day.
As the day wanes, the city stretches alongside the corridor, a gentle interlude guiding the path to the master suite. The volume allows the room to open and breathe, while the last light of day drifts across a bespoke console, tracing its detailing as the surface catches a soft, amber glow.
A soft carpet yields underfoot, inviting the body to slow and settle. The bed provides a gentle refuge, where tension eases and cares begin to slip away.
Beyond, the atmosphere deepens as the day recedes. Water traces warm stone sinks, carrying the day away in gentle ripples. Dark metal fixtures catch the fading light, casting subtle shadows over textured surfaces. Small rituals—a long bath to welcome the night, soft towels, and the calm of the space—create a serene close to the day.
