Contours of a Dream

At dawn, when the city is still in its most unguarded state, daylight moves through this home with an unhurried grace, tracing gentle contours as it catches on stone and settles into the grain of timber.

Set along the Singapore River, this four-bedroom apartment at The Avenir is conceived as a place for intentional living.

The palette is deliberately pared back, with muted creams, gentle taupe, and warm timber tones forming a foundation that feels understated and composed. Stone surfaces, marked by natural veining and subtle striations, are selected for their ability to age with grace.

Designed by EightyTwo, the home reflects a considered translation of intent into space, expressed through understated luxury and restraint.

It was this design language that first drew the homeowners to the studio’s work.

Spatial Balance

Spatial planning reflects a deliberate balance between openness and privacy. Rather than segmenting the home into rigid zones, the layout allows spaces to unfold with natural fluidity across the 2,100 sq ft residence.

As the design team notes, “achieving fluid movement across the home required meticulous planning and a precise alignment of spatial decisions.” More intimate corners sit alongside expansive communal areas, each supporting both solitude and interaction.

Here, craftsmanship is expressed through restraint, with subtle curves shaping the experience of the space. Timber introduces warmth, stone provides grounding, and textiles soften the composition. The result is a spatial language defined by cohesion, where every material supports the same underlying calm.

This balance is reflected in how the home is experienced. Luxury is felt not in grandeur, but in the ease of gathering and togetherness. Set against tender hues and thoughtful functionality, the home is designed for connection, shared laughter, and quiet conversations.

Repose and Restoration

In the master bedroom, a sense of repose is woven into every detail. Soft textiles catch the light, while pale timber tones maintain continuity with the rest of the home.

As the day recedes, a private stillness awaits. Stone surfaces continue the tactile narrative, while the last of the evening light softly settles within. Here, routine takes on a slower cadence as the day’s tensions give way to restoration.

More than a place to reside, this is a quiet counterpoint to the rhythms of modern life. It is a space to breathe, drift, and dwell within the contours of a dream.
